As a Midlands-based housing developer Lockley Homes have launched a new style of residential property aimed at giving older buyers and downsizers luxury accommodation at affordable prices.

Dubbed “Sky Bungalows”, the trendsetting developer believes that this new living concept at their Kingsbrooke development is set to take the UK residential housing market by storm.

Lockley Homes, are a small Warwickshire-based developer run by brothers Tom and Karl Lockley, who have made their name by bucking UK housing trends and standing out from the crowd.

Across the UK, national housebuilders often look to maximise the total number of housing units on each site, preferring smaller accommodation over luxury living spaces. However, in order to compete with more established firms, Lockley Homes have set out to provide luxury accommodation first and foremost, which is the idea behind their latest development in the village of Colwall, near Malvern in Herefordshire. Situated opposite Lockley Homes’ other housing development in Colwall, Co-Founder and Managing Director Karl Lockley expressed his pleasure at securing two well-located developments on either side of the villages main through road.

“The village of Colwall is extremely sought after, being the jewel in Herefordshire with direct train links to London Paddington, Birmingham and Hereford.” said Karl, who added: “Colwall is close to the Malvern Hills and the village has an excellent selection of shops and services and multiple private schools nearby.

“We believe Kingsbrooke will appeal to ‘lock up & leave’ buyers, who may spend part of the year abroad, parents of children at local private schools looking for a bolt hole, or down-sizers looking for a bungalow but without the hassle of maintaining gardens and external facilities as this is all provided.”

Kingsbrooke sits on a two-acre site and will comprise of a range of property types, with purchasers having a choice of two 2-bedroom bungalows, two 4-bedroom houses or six spacious 2-bedroom apartments.

The six luxury two-bedroom apartments in Connolly House are perhaps the most eye-catching. Dubbed the “Sky Bungalows” by Lockley Homes, these apartments are designed in the style of an Edwardian country house, and are surrounded by lawns and trees.

The Sky Bungalows feature an impressive lobby, with a large five-star lift, buyers will be able to choose from two large ground floor apartments which have private terraces with the penthouses featuring multiple vaulted elevations.

Elaborating further on the appeal of these Sky Bungalows, Karl states: “These new Sky Bungalows, as we have named them, range from 1,650 sq ft to 1,800 sq ft, and are some 10-20% bigger than traditional bungalows.

“As an added bonus, they are also £100,000 cheaper, but buyers lose nothing by choosing such a luxury apartment development.”

All Sky Bungalow occupiers will have the use of a private cabana in the communal gardens for outdoor dining use.

Lockley Homes assure that buyers will also have bespoke kitchens with stone worktops as well as a private garage space, two allocated parking spaces and three communal visitor parking spaces.

Prices range from £475,000 to £750,000 with the two detached four bedrooms, three bathroom houses having already been snapped up off-plan.
